Until such time that those changes are published, any healthcare professional with the City of Lawton will follow the guidelines set forth here.ĭue to the recent increase in active COVID-19 cases caused by the surge of the Omicron and Delta variants, as reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the wearing of masks is still strongly recommended for all city staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, along with continued social distancing.Īlthough masks are not required of city employees who are fully vaccinated, the CDC still recommends the wearing of masks, regardless of vaccination status, when in public spaces where social distancing is not possible. There may be slight variances for healthcare professionals, however, at this time guidelines for healthcare professionals are being re-examined by the CDC, last updated January 14, 2022. Currently, a mask is to be worn for 10 days or the wearing of a mask can be discontinued if two sequential negative Antigen tests, 48 hours apart, are obtained. However, current recommendations are that quarantine be treated as isolation where the wearing of a mask is concerned. Quarantine guidelines, which apply to close contacts, are being re-evaluated by the CDC. The current guidelines can be found here which should cover most all instances. The Covid-19 Workplace Directive dated Januhas been rescinded.Įffective immediately, all City of Lawton employees shall follow the most currently posted CDC guidelines concerning Isolation and Precautions for People with Covid-19 which includes the wearing of a mask.
